Gracie's Birthday

Gracie turned 12 today!  Hard to believe!  She refused to have a party.  In typical middle child fashion, what she wanted most of all was a day with mom and dad all to herself.  We shipped off Daniel and Ally and it was all about her.
I guess one of the coolest things about birthdays is being in control for the day.  She ordered Daddy's famous chocolate pancakes for breakfast, working on farm chores all afternoon, a pizza picnic for lunch, out to eat at the Cotton Patch for supper, and a movie at home snuggled between mom and dad before bed.

A pizza picnic in the woods.  She didn't want regular cake.  She wanted make your own brownie sundaes, with sprinkles, gummy bears, m&m's and cool stuff like that.
She got some much needed new tennie shoes, a new backpack, and a great new saddle blanket for riding.  We ended the night watching Wild Horse, Wild Ride the story of mustang trainers.  She loved her day, her way!

Dear Lord, I pray that you would continue to guide Gracie.  Protect her from evil, help her to learn your ways, and to yield to your guidance.  We thank you for the joy she has been to our family.  Let this year be the most blessed year of her life so far and only a beginning of all the wonderful things you have in store for her.  Help her to follow you all the days of her life, and to lead others to follow you also.  Amen.
