Ayers Birthday Blitz Continues...

Daniel's birthday was kept pretty simple this year.  Due in part to terrible weather, and a possible case of the flu going through our family.  He turned 10 years old on the 30th.  Double Digits is a big deal.

He requested an ice cream cake.  I've made one of these before and it is so incredibly simple, I'm never sure why they cost like $15 in the store.  I ended up layering ice cream sandwiches and softened chocolate ice cream.  A layer of brownies for the crust would've made it ideal, but he wasn't complaining.

He had originally wanted to have a party, but we decided to hold off until June 30th when a all-boy camp out can be done.  Instead he had a daddy day on Saturday.  They went to the movies, played video games, worked on the barn, and ate junk food, cooked out on the grill together, and then on Sunday night stayed up late to watch the Cowboys.  It doesn't get any better than that in boy world.  He really raked it in present-wise too with new insulated coveralls, new shoes, two airsoft guns, and a tin-can robot.

I pray that Daniel continue to grow into a mighty man of God.  I pray that he would be a leader who would lead many others to know of Jesus Christ.  I pray that he would walk in humility and compassion and that the Lord would give him health and knowledge and a great passion for the Word of God.  I pray that this would be a powerful year of blessing and growth and that he would love others and be a light in this dark world.  Amen.

What a wonderful way to celebrate. Last year my grandson and his Papa went on a 3 day camping/fishing adventure after his birthday and he is still talking about it!
Love that your daughter got to go horseback riding!
