I Kill Mums

I always have these fall visions of gorgeous mums lining the front porch.  I can not pass by those shelves of mums outside of Walmart in early September.  I have a big weakness for those pots of yellow, fall, awesomeness.  I don't know how much I have spent on them over the years.  I buy them for the inside and the outside of the house.
And... I immediately kill them all - every last one.  So, about the middle of October I buy more and try again.  This time I'll get it right, I'll try harder.  And... I immediately kill them all - every last one.  So, November rolls around and I promise myself I won't let myself be sucked in by the fall displays at Home Depot.  But, in November they put them on SALE!  Those mums are so pretty and fluffy, and yellow... and it is almost Thanksgiving.  The porch has to look awesome for Thanksgiving ... I'll give it just one more shot.  Sigh.  I should do some research about how to keep them alive.  Maybe this year, I'll decorate with hay - I can't kill that, and it is pretty useful around here.

Don't feel bad, I can grow lots of things, but here in the NW Rhodies grow wild and I kill them! Go figure!
